Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 13, 2026
AdmitScale ("AdmitScale," "we," "us," or "our") provides a college planning service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you visit https://admitscale.com or use our services.
We take your privacy seriously, especially because AdmitScale is used by students, parents, and school counselors to support college planning — work that often involves sensitive personal and academic information.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
When you use AdmitScale, you may give us:
- Account and contact information — your email address, and optionally your name
- Academic and profile information — grades, test scores, course history, intended major, financial preferences, geographic preferences, and other inputs you provide during your assessment
- Payment information — when you purchase AdmitScale Blueprint, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers; we receive only a transaction confirmation and the last four digits of the card.
- Communications — emails or messages you send to us
Information collected automatically
When you visit our site, we (and our analytics provider, Google Analytics 4) automatically collect:
- IP address, approximate location (city/region), device and browser type
- Pages viewed, links clicked, time spent on pages
- Referring URL and search terms used to find us
We use cookies and similar technologies to enable site functionality and measure usage. See the Cookies section below.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate and deliver your AdmitScale Blueprint
- Process payments and provide receipts
- Respond to your questions or support requests
- Maintain, secure, and improve our service
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We do not send marketing emails — communications from us are limited to transactional messages (purchase confirmations, product delivery, support replies).
3. How we share your information
We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers. We use trusted third parties to run our business: Stripe (payments), Google Analytics (anonymous usage analytics), and our hosting provider. These providers are contractually limited to using your data only to perform services for us.
- Legal compliance. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of AdmitScale, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If AdmitScale is acquired, merged, or sells substantially all its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
4. Children's and student data
AdmitScale is intended for use by individuals 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at counselor@admitscale.com and we will delete that information.
Many of our users are high school students under 18. We treat their information with the same care and protections described in this policy. We do not sell, rent, or use minor users' information for advertising. Parents and guardians may contact us at any time to review or request deletion of a minor's information.
If you are a school counselor using AdmitScale on behalf of students, you are responsible for obtaining any consents required under FERPA or applicable state laws before submitting student information.
5. Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), restricted access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated information at any time by emailing counselor@admitscale.com. After deletion, anonymized or aggregated information may be retained for analytics purposes.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including:
- The right to access the information we hold about you
- The right to correct inaccurate information
- The right to delete your information
- The right to opt out of certain uses
- The right to data portability
To exercise these rights, email counselor@admitscale.com with your request. We will respond within 30 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
California residents: You have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of sale (we do not sell personal information).
EU/UK residents: If you access AdmitScale from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using AdmitScale, you consent to that transfer. You have rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection.
8. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Essential cookies required to operate the site and process purchases
- Analytics cookies through Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect site functionality.
We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals because no industry standard for them has been finalized.
9. Third-party links
Our site may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., college websites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Please review their privacy policies before sharing information.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on our site. Your continued use of AdmitScale after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
